first_imgIF THE THOUGHT of trying to plug in a charger with an upside down cable is enough to leave you annoyed, you will be glad to hear that a solution is on the way.The USB 3.0 Promoter Group has announced that the next generation of USBs are currently being developed. The new model, called Type-C, will be the same size as a micro USB connector and will allow for scalable power charging. The real draw is that they are reversible, meaning that users can plug it into their devices without having to worry about whether it’s the right way up, or which end of the cable they’re plugging in.However, the new model will be incompatible with existing USB cables and ports.A final specification is expected to be published by the middle of 2014 meaning that the first batch of devices using the new ports won’t arrive until 2015.Read: Has your computer slowed down over time?
