first_imgLater in the day, Lenovo will launch its Project Tango phone called Phab2 Pro at an event in San Francisco. But there are already some leaks from China that purportedly give a look at the upcoming phone. If the leaked images are correct, Lenovo’s Tango phone will have a metal body and at least two cameras, including a big one, on the rear. The phone also sports a fingerprint scanner on the back.Project Tango is an attempt by Google, the creator of Android, to make a phone that is capable of seeing, or at least sensing, the world around it. For the project the company has tied up with Lenovo. Earlier, Google had unveiled prototype hardware for the Project Tango for developers. This device was a tablet. Lenovo’s Phab2 Pro also looks like a big device, with its screen size rumoured to be 6.4 inches.”Project Tango technology gives a mobile device the ability to navigate the physical world similar to how we do as humans. Project Tango brings a new kind of spatial perception to the Android device platform by adding advanced computer vision, image processing, and special vision sensors,” Google explains on the Project Tango website.Earlier, Lenovo had confirmed that it would launch a special phone at its Tech World event in San Francisco. “Tech World 2016 will also host major product announcements; we’ll launch the world’s first consumer Project Tango-enabled smartphone in partnership with Google. Project Tango brings augmented reality to your smartphone, including gaming, navigation, and other utilities,” a Lenovo spokesperson had said while announcing the Tech World event.”This device gives you a totally new way to experience the world – enabling you to do things never imagined, from indoor mapping your way around a museum to creating a 3D gaming environment to visualizing how a new refrigerator fits into your kitchen.”advertisementHowever, the Phab2 Pro is not be the only device expected at the Tech World. At the same event Motorola, which is now owned by Lenovo, will launch Moto Z, its new flagship Android phone. Just like the Phab2 Pro, the Moto Z is also expected to bring something unique to market. It has been rumoured that the Moto Z will have a modular design, somewhat similar to the LG G5 design but implemented in a better way, and it will redefine the high-end phone market.
