first_imgThe administration of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Zion University in Monrovia on Sunday hosted a special intercessory and thanksgiving service in honor of its key alumni. The program was held under the theme, “Let God Be Your Cornerstone,” based on Zachariah 10:4.The ceremony which brought together the honorees and other clergies was held in the Multipurpose Hall of the Brown Memorial AME Zion Church on Benson 166 Street.Those to honored, according to the Dean of the College of Divinity, Rev. Emmanuel F. Johnson, I, are former graduates and alumni, who have ascended to the position of Representatives in the National Legislature and the Senate.The guests of honor were the Senate Pro-Tempore, Armah Zulu Jallah, Jim W. Tornonlah, Senator, Margibi County, Garrison Yealue, Representative, Nimba County Electoral District #4, Clarence Massaquoi, Representative, Lofa County Electoral District #3 and Alfred G. Koiwood, Representative, Gbarpolu County, Bopolu Electoral District #1.Rev. Johnson said these special invitees from the first branch of government are former students and alumni of AME Zion University.They were honored for their “ascendancy to the Upper and Lower Houses of the National Legislature,” he added. In their individual statements, they expressed gratitude to the AME-Zion for the honor, promising to always identify with the administration whenever the need arises.
