Pelham-Youngblood, dedicated in Fanti Town, New Matadi Estate.During the ceremony, Rep. Pelham-Youngblood said she did not regret renovating the market for the women of the district, “because I can recall during the 2011 election period, you trusted me with the district and so I feel obligated to all residents.”She told the residents, “We need to have a very strong and committed leadership to work with us to bring relief to the district.”She clarified that the expenses for project was not from the County Social Development Fund but it was completed from funds through her own initiative.She informed them that they (lawmakers) do not have direct and spending power over the County Development Fund but rather it is the job of the County Superintendent to manage the fund.The lawmaker put the cost of the project at US$2,987, excluding two-year rental fees.She informed the people of the district that Senator George Weah, through her office gave the market women L$35,000 to construct their market tables.She promised to pay two years’ rental fees for the spot that the women are leasing to carry out their business.Lamini Kaba, president of the market said “We were frustrated and dejected when our building was destroyed by the heavy storm, and we were selling in the rain. Many people laughed at us. We were even ashamed to enter the market as leaders and we would walk with our heads down.“Our beautiful daughter wasted no time in beginning the project—today, we are grateful that is being completed.”As a sign of appreciation the market president presented gifts to Brother Kaba, the negotiator; Mr. Sheriff the project supervisor; and gowned Rep. Pelham-Youngblood.At the well-attended program, National Youth Leader of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), Jefferson Korgee, declared that it was no mistake for the people of District #9 to have listened to them during the elections to vote Rep.
